Eight Top Tips To Attain Your Dreams

Everybody has a dream, and you're surely no different! Why not take out your dreams, dust them off and put them to work? Often, we go through life believing that our dreams are just that - nice thoughts and nothing more - however, nothing could be further from the truth. Attaining your dreams is the same as attaining your goals. With careful thought and planning and positive and measurable steps, you can make your dreams come true. Read to learn about the practical, doable steps that will carry you on a firm course to achieving your heart's content.

1. Keep a dream journal! When you write your dreams down, you bring them into the world of reality. Once they're here, you can deal with them in a realistic way.

2. Create a step by step plan! With your dreams firmly written down, think about and establish the steps that you will need to take to attain them. For each of your dreams, write an action plan. It should consist of easy doable steps that you can truly attain.

3. Get a clear mental picture! Take 15 or 20 minutes every day to imagine yourself as you will be when you attain your dreams. This will put a firm picture in your mind of the reality to come. When you can see it, you can do it.

4. Set aside some dream work time every day! Don't just dream up your goals and then forget about them. Set aside a specific period of time every day to take a few little steps toward your goal.

5. Step outside your comfort zone! Sometimes pursuing your dreams can be scary, but it's worth it! Be sure to press on, even when the going gets tough!

6. Engage a coach! Don't try to go it alone. Everyone needs support. Seek out a friend who is also pursuing goals, or find a counselor, member of the clergy, teacher or other mentor to cheer you on your way.

7. Your dreams are not set in stone! Remember that as you travel this road, you will be growing and changing. Your dreams may grow and change too. That's OK! Simply make adjustments and continue on!

8. Celebrate every successful step taken. Your goal should be broken down into attainable steps called objectives. As you succeed at each objective, take a moment to reflect, pat yourself on the back or even blow your own horn! You deserve it!

When we're children, we're always asked what we want to be when we grow up. More likely than not, this question is followed by laughter and lots of reasons why we can't be what we want to be when we grow up. Now you are grown up and responsible for your own dreams. If there was negativity in your past, shake it off, follow these steps and pursue your dreams. By keeping a dream journal, setting a firm plan, envisioning your success, working steadily, recruiting support and celebrating your abilities, you are sure to succeed.
